HOBOKEN – Second Ward Councilwoman Beth Mason will be on the ballot running for reelection in May 2011. In a letter to friends and supporters, Mason touted the work she has done in the last four years, but said she isn’t finished.
“I am very proud of the things we have accomplished, but there is more to do,” Mason said. “Most importantly, we need to make sure we use the current budget surplus to lower our property taxes.”
Mason said in the next few weeks she will launch her campaign website, as well as introduce her platform.
Mason is the first candidate to announce an intention to run for office in May, when six council seats will be up for election. – Ray Smith
