UNION CITY – The city will hold a presentation and discussion Tuesday night Oct. 26 at Jose Marti Middle School, 1800 Summit Ave. featuring the director of ‘Oscar’s Cuba,’ Jordan Allott. The event from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. will begin with a screening of the film.
‘Oscar’s Cuba’ is an hour-long documentary shot in Cuba and the U.S. about Dr. Oscar Biscet, who is currently serving a 25-year prison term for allegedly committing crimes against the sovereignty and the integrity of Cuba. Dr. Biscet is one of the communist island’s best-known opposition leaders and human rights advocates. Four-time Grammy winner Arturo Sandoval contributed the original soundtrack to the production.
