SECAUCUS – Jennifer Breuer, assistant director at the Secaucus Public Library and Business Resource Center, has been selected to be the director of the Glen Ridge Public Library effective Nov. 1. A Secaucus High School graduate, Breuer attended William Paterson University, where she majored in fine art and elementary education. She worked at the Secaucus library throughout college.
After college she taught fourth grade in Union City for one year before leaving to pursue a master’s of library science degree at Rutgers. Before being promoted to assistant library director in Secaucus, Breuer previously worked as the children’s librarian, overseeing such programs as Rhyme Time, Extended Story Hour, the Reading Buddies tutoring program, and the Teen Tech Club, a monthly group that teaches computer skills to young adults. Breuer also served as the library’s webmaster.
Breuer recently served as the day-to-day point person for the Library Mini-Fair and Book Sale. – E. Assata Wright
