BAYONNE – At about 11 a.m. today an elderly man driving down 21st Street apparently struck an elderly woman near 21st Street and Avenue C, then continued down 21st Street, lost control of his car and smashed into the front of the former Pride Bakery site.
The elderly woman, whose condition has not been determined yet, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The elderly driver was transported to Bayonne Medical Center with lacerations to his head, which were not life threatening, said Public Safety Director Jason O’Donnell.
“There was some structural damage,” O’Donnell said. “The fire department is on the scene.”
