Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at Holy Rosary Church for Charles Bellavia “Charlie Tubes,” 91, of Jersey City. He died Sept. 18 at his home, with his wife Rosemarie by his side. He worked for Emerson Radio for a total of 35 years, was a member of the US Navy, and worked as a supervisor for Power Mate in Hackensack. He was an avid hobbyist, with a particular love of painting, coin collecting and making wood replicas of famous buildings and homes, most notably Holy Rosary Church and the Apple Tree House. His model homes were featured in the Jersey Journal in January of this year, and some are on display in museums elsewhere in New Jersey. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta Bellavia; the husband of Rosemarie (Ricci); the father of Michael Bellavia and Cathy LaBruno; the grandfather of Nicole Rivera and husband Anibal, and Loriana Larino and husband Joey; the brother of Vincenza Bellavia, Louise Suriani, and the late Mario, Vinnie, Joseph, Michael, and Nina Blumenfeld.
