JERSEY CITY — Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said on Friday that a 45-year-old Jersey City Heights woman found stabbed to death in her home Thursday afternoon by her teenage daughter had been stabbed multiple times in the back.
DeFazio said Shrimatie Parasram of Prospect Street was discovered before 5 p.m. lying face down between the kitchen and dining room on the first floor of the home. He said she was pronounced dead at the scene a little after 5 p.m.
DeFazio said there was no sign of forced entry to the residence, and no weapon has been recovered. He said Parasram was scheduled to travel to her home country of Guyana on Friday morning. DeFazio said motive has not been established, and family members and neighbors were interviewed.
