WEEHAWKEN —On Tuesday, the Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center (HRPAC) officially announced the new date for one of the Summer Concerts on the Hudson acts which was postponed in July due to inclement weather.
The Sensational Soul Cruisers, a twelve piece band playing Motown, Memphis Soul, Philly Funk, and New Jersey Rock ‘n Roll, will headline the final concert of the music series on Sunday, Sept.19 at 5 p.m.
HRPAC Executive Director Bruce Sherman said that the rescheduling of the Soul Cruisers concert also created the opportunity for a “mini-festival” to close out the summer, with two opening bands playing earlier in the afternoon.
Finish This, a ten piece that plays Rock ‘n Roll and Blues from the 50’s and 60’s and features Weehawken residents Joey Cimino and Joe Brown, is scheduled to appear at 2 p.m.
And at 3:30 p.m., Weehawken teen sensation Jack Skuller will take the stage playing Rock and Rockabilly. Jack has recently been profiled in the Star Ledger and The New York Post and was also featured on Good Day New York to play his national hit single, “Love is a Drum.” See the Hudson Reporter profile on Jack Skuller here.
