Funeral services were held Sept. 1 at Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church, Jersey City, for Hope Loretta (Jermaine) Cureton. She passed away on Aug. 26. She was employed by Avis Rental Car as a transporter. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church and served many organizations, such as The Gospel Chorus, The Celestial Choir and The Missionary Society. She was the granddaughter of Margaret C. Odoms and the late Robert L. Cureton Sr., and step-granddaughter to the late Wilbert Odoms Sr.; the daughter of James Shyro Brown and the late Loretta Cureton; the sister of Edwin Reed, Robe Bryant, Sukea Lightfoot, and Artina Bowers; the niece of Tonyette B. Cureton and Paul Asmar Cureton; the great-niece of Louise Elder Williams, Evelyn Lester, Willie Williams, and Mack E. Evans, who was also her godfather; the great-great-niece of Martha Ann Evans; the cousin of L. Cureton, and Angelique B. Miller; and the goddaughter of Kaye C. Johnson, and friend to many.
