A funeral mass was held Aug. 27 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City, for Nellie (Dzietkowski) Gromek, 90. She died Aug. 24 at Bayonne Medical Center. A life-long Jersey City resident, she and her husband were proprietors of Gromek Stationary in Jersey City for 30 years. She was the daughter of the late Stella (Badgnak) and Stanley Dzietkowski; the wife of the late Joseph W. Gromek; the mother of Joseph R. Gromek and Patricia Serro; the sister of Walter Kosinski and Alice Smarz; the grandmother of three; and the great-grandmother of four.
