HOBOKEN–With a number of redevelopments for the city on the way, the mayor’s office has announced that on Tuesday, Aug. 31, the city will host a “Redevelopment 101” seminar to educate the public on the redevelopment process. The seminar will take place at the Multi Service Center at 124 Grand St., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The seminar will be recorded and published on the city’s website.
“My administration takes public input very seriously,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer, in a press release. “As we move forward with various redevelopment projects, an informed public will be in a position to offer the feedback we need to reflect our community’s vision for our city.”
According to the press release, redevelopment attorney Joe Maraziti of Maraziti, Falcon, and Healy will speak about the redevelopment process, and Jong Sook Nee of McManimon and Scotland will detail the financing aspect of redevelopment. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
Hoboken is currently creating a redevelopment plan for the western edge of the city, and is looking into possible redevelopment for the southwestern area of the city. Previously, the mayor has held meetings which asked citizens for their input on what should be done in specific areas of the city, such as on Newark Street.
The city is holding the “Redevelopment 101”seminar to educate the public so residents can contribute ideas to redevelopment once the process advances.
