A funeral mass was offered Aug. 16 at St. Aloysius Church for Dorothy M. Connolly, 84. She passed away Aug. 9 at Compassionate Care Hospice at the Atrium. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Jersey City and fourth generation of the Connolly family in the city. She was a retired reservation supervisor for BOAC. Dorothy was a member of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and was Grand Marshal of the parade in 2000. She was active in several Hudson County organizations including Friends of Liberty Park. Dorothy was the sister of the late Dr. Thomas J. Connolly, Jr. and the late George M. Connolly Sr.; aunt of Bernadette, Paul C., Thomas M., Patricia McGee, George Jr., Kim, Lynn and the late Michelle. Also surviving are 10 great-nieces and nephews.
