‘Ed will be missed tremendously’

To the Editor:
The Windmill Alliance would like to thank the family of Mr. Edward Norton Jr. for sharing the memory of their father and grandfather with us. Windmill Alliance has received many gifts in his memory, and on behalf of the Advisory Board (on which Ed served), the staff, and especially the participants and residents of our agency, we are eternally grateful for your thoughtfulness in this time of loss.
Ed Norton Jr. and Muralo Co. was a prime force in the early beginnings of our parish ministry of Windmill Alliance. It was Ed Jr. and his company that enabled us to start the HIGHWAYS program very shortly after the beginning of our Windmill Center. When HIGHWAYS opened on East Second Street, a building that was owned by Norton & Sons, the company let us use this building absolutely free. Without this gift, we would not have had the backing necessary to establish the first two of our significant programs for the City of Bayonne – The Windmill Center and HIGHWAYS thrift store.
Ed will be missed tremendously, but this spirit of generosity and his good heartedness will live on in his family. Again, thank you and our deepest condolences. May Edward Norton Jr. rest in peace.
