BAYONNE — Steven Breyan, 28, of West 50th Street, was arrested for allegedly holding up two stores and allegedly burglarizing the same house twice over two-week-long crime spree, Bayonne Deputy Chief of Police Ralph Scianni said.
Scianni said Breyan was arrested on Aug. 11as the result of an investigation by police detectives.
Breyan is charged with breaking into a West 20th Street house during the overnight from July 31 to Aug. 1 and allegedly stealing undetermined amount of jewelry.
Scianni said Breyan is also charged with returning to the scene of the first crime on Aug. 7 when he allegedly made off with an additional $550 worth of jewelry.
Breyan has also been charged with armed robbery for a theft at Family Deli on Avenue B shortly after midnight on Aug 8 and for a second armed robbery at Tiger Mart on Kennedy Boulevard on Aug. 9.
Breyan faces two counts of armed robbery, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon (a knife). and two counts of possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and two counts of burglary into a residential home.
Instrumental in the arrests were police detective Sgt. Brian Bracken, and detectives Keith Striffolino, Nickki Dias, Michael Kubert and John Balance.
