On stormy March 13, the Friends of Liberty State Park Gardening Program received assistance from the Beta Alpha Phi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Hudson County Community College in clearing the berm on Freedom Way. Afterwards, mulch was applied. Christopher Grossi of Hoboken, Mouhamadou Ndiaye of Bayonne, Mayra Londono, her son Danny Villalta, and their friends, Yordy Alarcon and Kevin Curi, all of Kearny and Ted Lai were volunteers.
