Dear Editor:
I am disappointed about the action that was taken by the five council members who recently voted to approve a dual board appointment. As the mayor clearly stated, and I couldn’t agree with her more, board member positions should be limited to one per individual. In a town like Hoboken there are many qualified and dedicated citizens who could be candidates for board positions, and we should give them the opportunity to serve. There appears to be some confusion as to whether the city council has a policy against multiple board positions. I would like the city council to take appropriate actions to clear up that confusion by enacting an ordinance that would limit board positions to one per person.
Thank you,
Frances Jennings
