On May 13, 2010, The Urban League of Hudson County, in conjunction with the Hudson County CEO Program, presented The Journey To Womanhood Graduation. The Journey To Womanhood Program is an initiative targeted to young women ages 12-17 to reinforce character building, goal setting, self-esteem, positive images, and cultural awareness to encourage and inspire positive change. For a total of 13 weeks, the Class of 2010 compromised of 13 young women made a commitment to participate in a variety of programs that included: community service projects, visits to local and regional colleges, cultural and recreational activities, and movies that address today’s social issues. The Journey To Womanhood Graduation was a culminating celebration that highlighted the progress of the participants, and the positive impact that they will make to the local community at large.
