JERSEY CITY — Police arrested a 18-year-old man Saturday afternoon as a suspect in the shooting of a 5-year-old girl Friday night at the Montgomery Gardens housing complex in downtown Jersey City, according to a NJ.com report.
An 18-year-old man was taken into custody by police as the alleged shooter of the girl, who was in the playground area around 10 p.m. Friday evening. As of Saturday afternoon, the girl was in critical condition at Jersey City Medical Center, as the bullet pierced her throat.
Police said that the man was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. – RK
