Thousands crowd Hudson County waterfront for fireworks

HUDSON COUNTY — Vendors selling hot dogs and ices made a mint along the waterfront Sunday night when thousands of residents and visitors crowded Hoboken, Weehawken, and other nearby towns to see the Macy’s fireworks.
The display featured hues of red, purple, green and blue as onlookers “oohed” and “aahed.” The display kicked off around 9:30 and ran for approximately 20 minutes.
Next year, the fireworks will be shot off closer to the Statue of Liberty.
