A memorial service took place July 1 for Betty Grimm Carlson, 93, formerly of Hoboken. She died June 26 at Crestview Care Center in West Branch, Iowa. Betty was born May 9, 1917 in Hoboken, the daughter of Harry H. and Margaret (Wulf) Finkeldie. Growing up in Hoboken, Betty married Richard Grimm on May 9, 1942 in Hoboken. Mr. Grimm died in 1960. On April 19, 1963, Betty married Elmer Carlson in Hoboken. Mr. Carlson died in 1971. Betty worked for the Maxwell House division of General Foods as an accounting clerk. She retired in 1972. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and the Reform Church in Hoboken. Survivors include her daughters, Betty White (J. Patrick) of Iowa City and Margaret Grimm of Hoboken, New Jersey; two granddaughters, Jennifer White Andrews (Rod) of Mahopac, New York and Meghann Puffer (Aaron) of Altoona, Iowa; two great-grandsons, Patrick Puffer and Kendrick Puffer.
