A mass of Christian burial took place June 18 at St. Rocco’s R.C. Church, Union City for Anthony (Sonny) Cieri, 90, a lifelong Union City resident. He passed away June 14. Anthony earned three Bronze Stars for his World War II U.S. Army service. He belonged to American ExPrisoners of War, Disabled American Vets and The Union Hill Alumni Association, and was a Union City Recreation League coach for many years. He retired in 1985 after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was the husband for 50 years to the late Caroline, father of Michael and Anthony, brother of Marion Giordano and grandfather of Carla and Michael J. Services arranged by the Clerici Funeral Home, Union City.
