Video star looks familiar
A burglary suspect was arrested after a North Bergen police detective recognized his body movements and mannerisms on a surveillance video, police said.
According to Capt. Robert Dowd, on June 14, the owner of a local beverage company came into work to find the locks broken and on the ground. His office had been ransacked and his cash counting machine, valued at $400, was stolen.
Dowd said that when detectives arrived on the scene, they reviewed a video of two males wearing baseball hats and pulling their shirts over their faces. The video caught them entering and exiting the building, with one carrying a crowbar and a hammer and the other carrying various tools.

But Det. Louis Velez, a skilled detective in commercial burglaries, said he recognized one of the men.
“The actor’s body type and mannerisms resembled a party that he had arrested in the past for commercial burglary, so he contacted that person and asked him to come into headquarters for an interview,” said Dowd.
Isaac Orengo, 27, of Union City was arrested on June 15.
Dowd said that Orengo was previously arrested for allegedly burglarizing a coffee warehouse on Westside Avenue.
“During the course of the interview, the actor [allegedly] admitted and confessed to the burglary of the beverage place,” said Dowd. Dowd said that police are still working to identify and apprehend the second male.
Orengo was charged with burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
Real name learned after later arrest
According to Dowd, police were dispatched to the ShopRite at Columbia Park on June 10 around 8 a.m. on the report that a New York City man attempted to walk out with $175 worth of baby formula in a shopping cart.
The man was transported to police headquarters, where he was photographed, fingerprinted, and released with a summons.
Dowd said two days later, the Leonia Police Department arrested the same man allegedly in the act of shoplifting six containers of baby formula. They soon realized that the name he had given North Bergen police was an alias. His real name turned up after they added his information to the computer system.
His real name is Terrance T. Reed, 33, of New York City, Dowd said.
Reed had an active warrant for his arrest from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and is still in Bergen County Jail since his arrest last week, Dowd said.
Dowd said that a warrant was sworn out for hindering apprehension, in addition to the shoplifting charges.
