A funeral service took place June 4 at the Monumental Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Robert Eugene Murphy. He passed away May 22. “Bob” was born to the late Theodore and Margret Murphy in Fayetteville, N.C. He received his formal education at E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville. He later joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Vietnam War and received an Honorable Discharge. Bob was employed at the Eichenbaum-Kantrowitz-Lesf-Gulko law firm, where he worked as a manager and retired after twenty-six years. After his retirement, he worked for Startan Security for eleven years. At a young age, he met and married Ada Wilson and gave birth to their only child, Jermaine. He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy one son, Jermaine Murphy; one grandson, Ethan Murphy, and daughter-in law Chakima Jones; one niece, Linda DeSouza; one nephew, Kenneth Hutley; one special cousin, Marie Canada; a longtime companion Jean Pate; and a host of relatives and friends.
