A funeral mass was offered June 10 at St. Anne’s Church for Thomas J. Engelhardt, 84. He died peacefully on June 6 at Bayonne Medical Center. A resident of Jersey City for 64 years, he was born in St. Mary’s, Pa. He was a Teamster trailer driver for most of his life, and also drove trailers for the U.S. Postal Service in Jersey City for six years before retiring in 1993. Thomas is survived by his wife Gloria of 64 years. He was the father of Thomas and his wife Joyce; daughter Deborah Hart and her husband Bill. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Jennifer Engelhardt and Kaitlyn Hart; brother-in-law Donald Johnston and his wife Janet; and sister-in-law, Jean Jahnke. Thomas was predeceased by two brothers, Jerome and George, and a sister Marie Pletcher. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
