City has been beautified

Dear Editor:
When as a Community activist you back a quality person like Mayor and State Senator Brian P. Stack is easy for anyone to take a stand. As everyone knows the quality of life in this Community has never been better. Roads are constantly paved, new curbs and sidewalks have been installed, traffic lights and street lights are more common for safety. The City has been beautified by planting hundreds of trees throughout the neighborhoods.
Good news does not stop here. More infrastructures are coming in the next few months to make our City more presentable. With all of these things happening it will not cost a penny to the taxpayers because all this important spending will be paid by federal funding. I don’t need to dwell that money has been spent in a proper way. It is incredible that we as a nation are struggling financially and yet Brian finds different ways to keep making improvements in order to maintain high quality of life for everyone that lives in this community. Yes, we face more challenges ahead and one of the challenges is; what do we do as a community to help make undocumented workers feel part of our community? The huge problems that the undocumented population faces are our problems and if we want to maintain high quality of life we need to address the social and economic problems illegal immigrants face in our community.
I predict that in the next three years we are going to see, at the National level, a reform that for once has a solution to be able to allow undocumented workers be a part of our society. I’m convinced that at the local and state level Mayor and State Senator Brian P. Stack will have tremendous input of what the future holds for all of those that are undocumented in our society.

With respect,
Mark A. Cordero
