An open letter to the voters of Hudson County

Dear Editor:
I wish to express my sincere thank you and heartfelt gratitude to all of the fine people of Hudson County who came out in the Primary Election of June 8, 2010 and voted to nominate me to run in the General Election which will be conducted in November, 2010.
It is this type of outpouring of support that was felt by all involved that makes everything so worthwhile and the feeling of support so overwhelming for me. Throughout the Primary Election Day we received a myriad of telephone calls and personal contacts stating that many people, due to the rules of the primary election would have to wait until November to vote to continue me in the Office of Sheriff. It was also so heartening to hear many, many people state “Sheriff, wherever you are located on the ballot we will find your name and vote for you.”
Our message to the people of Hudson County is a message that I have attempted to live by all of my life, honesty and integrity. Whatever position I have held from elementary school teacher to the New Jersey State Police, Jersey City Police Department and currently as Sheriff I pledge to you that I will continue to hold the principles of honest in highest regard. You the people of Hudson County deserve nothing less in your Sheriff.
Again, I thank all of the people and all of those who have been there for me in this journey. We now look forward to your assistance in November, 2010. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.

Respectfully,
Juan M. Perez
Sheriff of Hudson County
