A funeral mass was celebrated May 13 at St. John Vianney R.C. Church in Stockholm for John M. Jurgilewicz, 85. He passed away surrounded by his family on May 9. Born in Jersey City, John served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was awarded the Purple Heart and crossed the equator on two occasions. He married Estelle Timinski in 1946 and the two raised their family in Jersey City and resided there until moving to Oak Ridge six years ago. John was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a barge captain for 23 years. John is survived by his wife, Estelle; his daughters, Dolores LaSala and her husband Larry and Janet Fetherston and her husband David; his grandchildren, Bridget Sekula, Suzanne Ferrando and Emily Fetherston; and his five greatgrandchildren.
