A funeral mass was offered April 10 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Dominick Chiaro, 88, a lifelong resident of the Marion section, Jersey City. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on April 5. Dominick was a World War II veteran, served in the Third Army under General Patton, and awarded the Bronze Star. Dominick was a retired receiving manager for Union Carbide, Edison. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and 50 Plus Club of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Dominick was an avid bowler and a graduate of Ferris High School, Jersey City. Dominick was the husband of the late Mildred (Jeffas); the father of Richard and the late Donna Chiaro; the brother of Joseph Chiaro, Tessie Hilken and Sarah Rembecki; the grandfather of Michael and Mark Lugo, Caitlyn and Madison Chiaro, and the great-grandfather of Mark Lugo.
