HOBOKEN AND BEYOND — Justin Bieber isn’t the only teen musical sensation waking people up to young performers. Several teenage musicians will be taking the stage at the famed rock club Maxwell’s in Hoboken on Sunday, April 25, including a Hudson County resident. The show is at 2 p.m., so it’s not too late for those who have to be in bed by seven.
The all-ages matinee will feature a group called (frighteningly enough) “The Indecent.” The press release notes:
While most kids these days spend their time on Rock Band, 15-year-old triplets Emily (vocals), Bo (guitar), and Madeline Brout (bass) made a family affair of rockin’ out the ol’ fashioned way – they each picked their poison of instrument and got down to business. Rounded out by 15-year-old drummer Nicholas Burrows, The Indecent bring a sound so raw and mature, they should be carded before playing it. Dredging up memories of grunge, classic rock, psychedelic rock, and other movements way before their time, these musicians dig into Rock ‘N’ Roll terrain that’s dirty, dynamic, smart, and fresh.
Here’s where Hudson County respresents: They’ll take the stage with quirky indie-poppers Supercute, and closing act, up-and-coming teen artist (FROM WEEHAWKEN!!) Jack Skuller.
They will also play the Cake Shop on May 15, as part of a series of all-ages afternoon concerts hosted by all-girl trio Care Bears on Fire. Doors open at 2pm. Maxwell’s is located at 1039 Washington Street.
