JC School board needs new leadership

Dear Editor:
My Jersey City Board of Education endorsements: On April 20th the citizens of Jersey City have a choice in the Board of Education elections. We can vote for politics as usual by keeping the same political faces on the board that we have seen in Jersey City for years. Or we can vote for three individuals who have a better vision of education for the 21st Century. They will dedicate their time on the board to make a difference in the lives of our children. The City of Jersey City can no longer afford to have our youngest citizen’s fail. The consequences are too great. Education is the most valuable tool we can give children to succeed and give back to our community. A failed education produces anything from not getting a job to spending life behind bars at taxpayer’s expense. We need new leadership to watch over the waste in spending by the administrators. New leadership to create innovative programs for learning. New leadership to create safer environments in and around schools. New leadership to make sure those budgets will concentrate the spending of our taxpayer money on teaching. That is why I ask you to come out and vote for Sterling Waterman 3A, Carol Lester 5A and Angel Valentin 8A; they are dedicated to making a positive difference in Jersey City. Please vote and make your voices heard.

Sincerely,
Jeff H. Kaplowitz
