A celebration of the life of Robert Brown Sr. was held April 7. He passed away April 2 at Christ Hospital, Jersey City. Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Goldie Mae Bullock Renix. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He worked as a police officer for the Jersey City Police Department for 25 years before retiring in 1990. He survived by his wife, Carolyn Ann Brown of Jersey City; three sons, Robert Brown Jr., Gregory Brown, and Damion Brown all of Jersey City; one daughter, Kimberly Brown of Jersey City; seven grandchildren, Jarrett Scribner, Janayah Scribner, Jasmine Scribner, Shamika Funches, David Brown, Delilah Brown, and Xavion Wright; one great-granddaughter, Sariya Scribner; and very special childhood friend, Walter Brown.
