Game Notes: Vanore Helps QCats Go To USA Hockey Nationals Morristown, N.J. – March 21, 2010 – Along with the NJ Quarry Cats, Alessandra Vanore of Hoboken is going to USA Hockey’s National Championships. the Quarry Cats won all three of their games in the Atlantic District Tier II 16 and Under Tournament to qualify for Nationals. On Friday March 19, the QCats defeated the Hatfield Rangers, 2-0. On Saturday March 20, the QCats squeezed by the Pennsylvania Quakers, 1-0. On Sunday, the QCats coasted to victory 5-0 over the New Jersey Colonials. Alessandra scored a goal on Sunday against the Colonials. Alessandra is a 9th grader at High Tech High School in North Bergen. National Tier II Championships will be held from April 7 to April 11 in East Lansing, Michigan and the QCats will compete against 11 other teams from around the country. As soon as they return, they will jump into try-outs for next year’s QCat teams which will be held APril 13, 14 and 15 at Floyd Hall Arena on the campus of Montclair State University, and more information is available by calling the rink at 973-746-7744.
