A funeral mass was offered March 15 at St. Rocco’s Church, Union City, for Mary Fortunato. She passed away March 12. Mary was a member of St. Rocco’s Rosary Society. She was the wife of 56 years to the late Nicholas “Smokey”, former North Bergen Police Officer, commissioner, and World War II Battle of the Bulge Silver Star Recipient. She was the mother of Donna and Gina Fortunato-Gehan; sister of Leonard, Laura Mott, Gloria Eckhardt, Helen Bostwick and the late Rita Reilly and Gaetano, and grandmother of Nicole and Arianna.
