A funeral mass was offered March 12 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Carmela “Chickie” Barone, 88, formerly of the Marion section of Jersey City. She passed away March 9. Carmela loved working in politics and was a retired clerk for the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Carmela was also a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Rosarian Society, Jersey City. Carmela was the wife of the late Louis Barone; mother of Sally Ann and Sammy Juliano, Paula and Gary Zachary, Louis and Joan Barone and the late Carl Barone; grandmother of Carl, Jessica, Michael, Toni Ann, Gary, Anthony, Joseph, Louis and Christina, and great grandmother of Gianna and Christopher.
