HOBOKEN — A building manager for a commercial space across from the Hoboken train terminal – which is used as Hoboken Democratic Committee headquarters – reported that his six-foot tall green rubber Statue of Liberty was taken from inside the building sometime between Monday, March 1 and Friday, March 5.
The statue, according to the man, belongs to former Mayor David Roberts and is valued at roughly $500.
Other businesses may have had access to the building, the man told police. Police found no pry marks on either of two entrances to the building.
