A funeral service took place March 3 for William J. Ernst. He passed away Feb. 27. A lifelong resident of Hudson County, William worked for the Hoboken Paint Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1996 as a supervisor. He was the husband of Carol (Reck); father of Debra Ernst and William Ernst, Jr. and wife Eleanor; brother of Ann Gudehus and husband, Ray and James Ernst and wife Matty; grandfather of Leesa Spritzer and husband David, William J. Ernst III, Megan Ann Ernst and Heather Ernst; great-grandfather of Brandon Carballo, Skylar Metsinger, Avianah Long, Alyssa Whalen and Sean Spritzer.
