Dear Editor:
As you might have learned, I’ve been selected by Mayor Michael Gonnelli and the Town council to fill out the remainder of Mayor Gonnelli’s term as your councilman. During the next twelve months I look forward to giving my best effort to represent your concerns and interests as a member of your municipal governing body.
Many of you are aware that I had previously represented the Second Ward and had the good fortune to serve with Mayor Paul Amico who set the standard for how the affairs of municipal government should be conducted.
Every citizen, regardless of his or her political views, was treated fairly, free from partisan recrimination. Town employees had no fear of intimidation and were respected for the quality of their work on behalf of our community. The best interests of our town always took precedence over the personal interests of politics.
As your councilman, I will continue to be governed by these principles. They represent the path I’ve followed in the past, and they will be my guide in the future.
This year marks an important point in our town’s history. It represents the return of our government to the people of Secaucus. Serving as your voice on the Town Council, I will not forget that I’ve been placed in a position of public trust. Your elected officials are here to serve our community and not themselves.
With this in mind, I want to encourage you to please feel free to contact me with your opinions and concerns as they relate to our town. I look forward to hearing from you, and with your help, we can work together for an even better Secaucus.
Second Ward Councilman
