A funeral mass was offered Feb. 19 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Carmine Maffei, 81, a life long Jersey City resident. He passed away Feb. 16. Carmine was a driver and salesman for Consolidated Freightways for over 30 years and later a recycling agent for the City of Jersey City. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was the husband of Rose (Ricciardi); father of Frank Maffei and wife Cris; brother of Anna, Sam, Mario and the late Anthony and Joseph Maffei; grandfather of Lauren and Ali Maffei, and also uncle to many nieces and nephews.
