Recall effort still alive

Last week the committees trying to recall West New York Mayor Sal Vega – led by Dr. Felix Roque and the Together We Can group – were given a trial date of April 12 to prove their allegations that Town Clerk Carmela Riccie incorrectly invalidated a number of the signatures they collected on petitions for a recall election.
Reports stated that the recall committees plan to call on a statistics expert to prove that Riccie’s error rate was exceedingly abnormal for that size. Over 30,000 signed petitions were reviewed and more than 40 percent of them were determined to be invalid.
