JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — According to an article posted Tuesday night in the NY Daily News, Jersey City cop Martin Abreu was sentenced Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court to up to 10.5 years behind bars for allegedly hitting and killing a New York University law school grad with his car last February in Manhattan.
On Feb. 7, 2009, according to the Daily News, “Abreu was [allegedly] driving drunk on West St. when he plowed into Marilyn Feng, 26, and her boyfriend Dennis Loffredo, 26.”
Abreu pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular manslaughter in December, according to the story.

Feng was killed at the scene while Loffredo suffered injuries to his legs and head. Police at the time said Abreu’s blood alcohol level was high.
The 26-year-old Abreu had been suspended by the Jersey City Police Department pending his conviction. – RK
