A funeral service was held Feb. 8 for Antonio Fontanez, 54. He passed away Feb. 1 at Casa Victoria Nursing Center in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. Born in Jersey City, he moved to Puerto Rico nearly 20 years ago. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was predeceased in death by his parents Flor and Rosa Fontanez and three siblings, Julio Velasquez, Jr., Lydia Asia and Joe Velasquez. He is survived by his two sons, Antonio Jr., and Alex Fontanez; two grandchildren, Jada Grace Fontanez and Alexia Alysa Fontanez; one brother, Hugo Velasquez; an uncle Luis Asia; nieces and nephews Gilbert and Ralph Espino, Danny and Rosalie Asia, Elise and Daniel Velasquez.
