Funeral services were held Feb. 1 for Rose M. Downs, 99, of Dumont. She passed away Jan. 28. Born in New York City, she was raised in West New York, before moving to Dumont. Mrs. Downs was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church in Dumont. Rose enjoyed crocheting and sewing, especially making clothing for dolls. Prior to retiring, she was a seamstress with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for over twenty years. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Downs, and mother of Frank E. Downs, Diana L. Wolf and Rosemarie C. Doughty; grandmother of Robert, Christine, Debra, Ryan, Phillip, Krista and Jimmy; greatgrandmother of four; sister of thirteen. Services arranged by the Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn.
