Flood warning for Hudson County

HUDSON COUNTY — Today is a good day to stay inside and read the Hudson Reporter newspapers. The National Weather Service has issued this warning:
..FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON…
* FROM ONE AND ONE HALF TO TWO AND ONE HALF INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE TRI-STATE FROM LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY…WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE GENERALLY EXPECTED OVER THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY…HOWEVER ANY STRONGER CONVECTION EMBEDDED IN THE RAIN COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ANYWHERE ACROSS THE TRI-STATE.
* THE PRIMARY THREAT ACROSS THE REGION IS FLASH FLOODING OF QUICK RESPONDING STREAMS AND SMALL RIVERS…AND IN URBAN AREAS.
