Funeral services were held Jan. 16 at Jerusalem Temple Holy Pentecostal Church, Jersey City, for Mother Clara Eva Brown. She passed away Jan. 11 at the Jersey City Medical Center. Daughter of the late Jessie Ruff and Sarah Hannah Ruff, she was born in Wrens, Ga. Great Mother Brown was a member of the Jerusalem Temple Holy Pentecostal Church and served faithfully until she became ill. Clara was educated in the Pine Hill and Springfield Schools in Jefferson County, Ga. Clara was united in marriage to the late Tony Lenzie Brown. Their union was blessed with nine children. Surviving to cherish Mother Brown’s memory are her children, Annie Mae Jenkins (Carl), Dr. Claudia Hall (Richard), Barbara Ree Parker (Derek) Wallace Browne, George Brown and Pastor Stanley Brown; sisters, Jessie Mae Patterson, Reba Scott, Barbara Chaplin, Willa McCall, Jerry Hicks and Charlie Mae Gardner; two daughters-in-law, Darlene and Wanda Brown; son-in-law Jarry Wilson; 38 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and church family.
