Funeral services were held Jan. 4 for Jesus Otero, 54, of Union City. He passed away Jan. 1. He was born in Puerto Rico and lived in Union City for many years. He was a police officer for the Department of Defense in Ft. Monmouth for over 25 years before retiring and was a veteran of the U.S. Army reserve. He was the husband of Migdalia Otero and the father of Angela Otero and Javier Garcia. He was the brother of Amalia Otero, Francisco Otero, Teresa Otero, Maria Virgen and Angel Antonio Otero as well as the grandfather of Alejandro Gabriel Otero.
