Reports say North Hudson Firefighter got DWI

According to published newspaper reports, North Hudson Regional Firefighter Terence Shelvin was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), failure to take a sobriety test, and reckless driving on Dec. 12.
NJ.com reported that witnesses said that Shelvin allegedly hit a vehicle that was leaving a Dunking Donuts near the intersection of Seventh Street and Paterson Plank Road in Union City.
Union City police did not return attempts for contact from the Reporter.
However, according to the report, Shelvin’s attorney said Shelvin wasn’t the one driving, that he wasn’t intoxicated, and that he did not refuse a sobriety test but instead that he had a concussion from the collision.
The report said that Shelvin has worked for the NHRFR for just over two years. A Jan. 11 court date has been set for him.
