Holiday Hudson Reporter editorial and advertising deadlines

Because of the holidays the next two weeks, the Hudson Reporter newspapers will have special advertising and editorial deadlines.
For the Sunday, Dec. 27 newspapers, the display ad and classified deadline is 12 noon on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
The office will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 25.
For the Thursday, Dec. 31 edition of the Midweek Reporter, the classified and display advertising deadline is 12 noon on Monday, Dec. 28.
For the Sunday, Jan. 3 editions of the Reporter newspapers, the editorial deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 9 a.m., and the advertising deadline is 12 noon that same Tuesday.
The office will be closed Thursday, Dec. 31 and Friday, Jan. 1. It will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

The big man himself will be taking a tour of Weehawken on Wednesday, Dec. 23 starting at 6 p.m. Santa and his sleigh will be escorted around town by the Parks Department and his Elves to visit little boys and girls. The tour will begin at Riva Pointe at Lincoln Harbor located at 600 Harbor Blvd. Then San will be in the downtown area of Weehawken from 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. He’ll be visiting the Heights between 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p. m. and go Uptown from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Residents are asked to listen by their windows. Flu Vaccine for seniors

Mayor Richard Turner and the Township Council have announced another chance for Weehawken seniors to receive a flu vaccine. A last chance clinic will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Senior Nutrition Center located at 201 Highwood Ave. Any interested seniors are asked to call (201) 319-6060 to sign up.

Weehawken Weekenders

The Weehawken Weekenders have planned their annual night at Pegasus in the Meadowlands. Join them on Friday evening, Jan. 22 for a night of racing fun. Ticket price of $60 per person includes gourmet buffet dinner, Weehawken Weekenders Trophy Race, racing program, and valet parking. Tickets are limited. Memorabilia wanted

The Weehawken historical commission is looking for any old photos, newspaper clippings, and other interesting memorabilia and items that pertain to the history of Weehawken. Items that involve community activities, the older the better, such as buildings, parades, businesses, politicians, churches, societies, and street scenes are specially wanted.
