Stolen vehicle recovered

On Dec. 17 at approximately 9:31 a.m., police recovered a stolen 2000 gray Chevy wagon and towed it away from 59 Hackensack Plank Rd. Police said the vehicle had been stolen from Union City.

Vehicle window smashed

On Dec. 17 between midnight and 3 a.m., a 2005 gray Toyota vehicle parked on the corner of Boulevard East and Kings Point had the driver’s side window smashed. Police said the vehicle was ransacked, but they still found a black iPod, which they took to headquarters. No arrests have been made.

Allegedly shoplifted $90 of salami

On Dec. 15 at approximately 10:52 p.m., a man was caught allegedly shoplifting at the Pathmark Shopping Center, 4100 Park Ave. He was arrested for allegedly stealing $89.95 worth of salami.
He told police his name was Rafael Perdomo, but later it was revealed that his real name was John Perdoma, and police said he had multiple warrants out for his arrest. Thus, the man was charged with hindering a police investigation in addition to the shoplifting charge.

Street sign found

On Dec. 14 at approximately 11:15 p.m., police found a street sign taken from the intersection of Shippen Street and Hudson Avenue. The sign was found in front of 202 Shippen St.

Thieves like GPS devices

On Dec. 13, police received a call that sometime between Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 9:30 a.m., an unknown person smashed the window of a 2009 Volkswagen and took a Magellan GPS system. The incident occurred near the intersection of Louisa Place and 46th Street.
It was also reported on Dec. 13 that between Dec. 11 at 11 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 8:32 a.m., an unknown person smashed the passenger side window of a 2007 silver 4-door Nissan and removed a Tom-Tom GPS system. The incident occurred at 883 Blvd. East.
