GOLDEN, WILLIAM E. SR

A funeral mass took place Dec. 14 at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Jersey City for William E. Golden Sr., 81. He died Dec. 10 at the Jersey City Medical Center after being ill. William was a lifelong Jersey City resident and known to many as “Pepi.” He will be most remembered for living up to his name “Golden” and being a genuine soul filled with a tremendous amount of kindness and having a “heart of gold.” He was blessed with a family who absolutely meant the world to him. William was retired from the Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority and Anheuser Busch. He played football for the Jersey City Destroyers. William was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary and Vincent Golden; sisters, Margie Dick and Dorothy Scattaro; and brothers, Vincent and John Golden. He was also predeceased by his son Vincent and granddaughter Theresa. William was blessed with a loving wife Margaret (Devine) Golden and most precious children: Joseph and wife MaryRose, Elizabeth Donovan and husband Richard, Bill and wife Mary Beth, and John James and wife Dana. He was the brother-in-law of Frances Golden. William was the grandfather of Thomas, Tammyjean, Dawnmarie, Tabitha, Joseph, Sean, Richard, Tara, Kaitlyn, William, Anthony, Travis, Amber and Michael. He is survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and has many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Greenville Memorial Home, Jersey City.
