Thank you for the opportunity and your support

Dear Editor:
Since my election to the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders, I have been working tirelessly on behalf of the residents of the Fifth District to bring back to district the taxes that are being paid to the County.
I am fortunate to be part of a team that includes County Executive Tom DeGise and have had tremendous amount of cooperation from my fellow Freeholders in funding projects that will help improve the quality of life for the residents of Hoboken.
Among the highlights of my first year are projects that will provide immediate and long term results for the community.
Projects that are in the works for this coming year are new traffic controls at the intersection of Washington Street and Observer Highway, a more effective use of County vehicles and personnel to assist the city in snow removal and structural and cosmetic upgrades to the sun house in Columbus Park. Final Design is almost complete for the 14th Street Viaduct reconstruction, the Weehawken Cove and Castle Point/Stevens walkway projects are poised and ready to go to provide a vital link to the Hudson River Walkway and major resurfacing projects have been funded and will lead a safer vehicular and pedestrian safety.
As your Freeholder, I make every effort to interact with all levels of government to achieve the most promising results. Some things are easy and some require much attention. I am committed to working with other Officials at all levels of government to bring out the Wet Water Pump Station to ease the flooding concerns in the western end of our city. From my position in County Government I will work to assure that in partnership with other agencies we will develop a plan to stop the flooding.
I am grateful for having the opportunity to serve and ask your continued support as I work on your behalf.

Regards,
Anthony L. Romano
