Sinatra’s music and charm will live forever

Dear Editor:
He was born on Dec. 12, 1915 and for many years his charm, acting skills and particularly his voice captivated people around the world. He left us all too soon in May of 1998 but as we celebrate Frank Sinatra’s 94th birthday this month, it’s good to know we’ll have all of the above attributes available through the magic of records and film plus Sirius-XM satellite radio. With performers like Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Peggy King, Harry Prime and Michael Buble (to name a few) still performing and carrying on Sinatra’s high standards and their interpretation of classic pop standards, the music of Berlin, Mercer, Porter, et al will prevail. Check out his recently released four CD plus one DVD boxed set, “Sinatra: New York” and Peggy King’s soon to be released CD, ‘‘Peggy King…Still Swingin’” and Harry Prime’s “Four Big Bands…One Big Voice,” a collection of pop standards given unique treatments by these outstanding artists.
A happy 94th birthday to Hoboken’s favorite son, Frank Sinatra.
